Earthli Plant-Powered Superfoods [now via subsidiary, Infusd Nutrition] has formed a collaboration with Dalhousie University to expand its innovative technology. Recently, Earthli filed a patent for its unique water soluble omega-3 product's production method and formula.
The technology, which can be added to any beverage, was developed by David Giffin, P.Eng of Earthli over a period of two years. Hemp seed oil, rich in omega-3 and omega-6, is the basis for the prototype application, and Dalhousie University's Chemical Engineering faculty is collaborating with David to extract and purify other oils that can be made water soluble using Earthli's proprietary technology.
According to David, this technology has limitless applications and can make almost any oil-based nutrient water soluble. The next focus for Earthli will involve algal oil extracted from micro algae, a sustainable plant source of EPA and DHA. David is enthusiastic about the potential of this algal oil and believes that it can be made water soluble using the same proprietary technology.
